We are hosting a national contest for small business owners in the food and beverage industry, who may be interested in learning the art of “perfecting their pitch.” In addition, business owners will compete to win a $10,000 grant, extended coaching & mentoring from Samuel Adams and the chance to pitch their product to a panel of retailers and buyers. Please note that you must have a packaged product that can be sold to consumers to be considered for the Pitch Room.

Scheduled Pitch Room Events for 2014:

CHICAGO-  April 7th- This competition has already taken place.

DENVER- May 21st- This competition has already taken place.

How will you judge my application? 

All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of qualified Boston Beer employees who will evaluate the entries based on the following criteria:  quality of pitch, creativity and uniqueness of product, viability of product, alignment with the Boston Beer values and entrant’s passion for the product/industry.

Can I enter if I am a craft brewer? 

Yes! Craft brewers are eligible and encouraged to enter. 

Why is this contest only open to small businesses in the food and beverage industry? 

Our Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream program focuses on supporting small businesses in the food, beverage and craft brewing industry as those are the industry’s we know best – it’s that simple.

When will I find out if I’ve been chosen to compete?

Boston applicants: We will close the application process on the morning of Monday, September 29th.

What can I bring to the event? 

Bring your best pitch, and your product!

How long will I have to pitch? 

2 minutes max!

Who are the judges? 

Judges may consist of member of Samuel Adams senior sales team, retailers, buyers and business experts. You will find out the names of the judges and their professional background prior to pitching on the day of the event.

What happens if I advance to the final competition in New York City?

The winner(s) of each regional contest will receive a trip for 2 to New York City to compete at the finals on Thursday, December 4th. Finalists will compete in front of a panel judges for a chance to win a $10,000 grant to grow their business, extended coaching and mentoring from Samuel Adams employees and the opportunity to pitch their product to key retailers and buyers.

Will Samuel Adams be buying my product or idea? 

No. You will have the opportunity to pitch your product to Samuel Adams employees as well as retailers and buyers but Samuel Adams will not be buying your product or idea.
